Salaar’s successful performance is making waves at box offices worldwide! In the latest developments, Biggie has achieved success in surpassing the lifetime collections of Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Leo’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer,’ both of which were among the biggest Indian successes of 2023. While this is an achievement in its own right, it will still fall behind Prabhas’s Baahubali: The Beginning. Let’s dive into more details!

Directed by Prashant Neel, ‘Salaar: Part 1—Ceasefire also stars’ stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Eesha Rebba, Jagapathi Babu, Teenu Anand, Bobby Simha, and Shriya Reddy in key roles. The film revolves around the friendship between a violent man, Deva (played by Prabhas), and Vardha (Prithviraj). It was released on December 22 and received mixed reviews from critics.

Salaar at the Worldwide Box Office

Despite mixed reviews, Salaar has emerged as a success story due to a spectacular start and acceptance of the content in audience centers. Prabhas’s stardom has once again shone overseas, and the film has garnered solid support from Telugu audiences. It has been commercially successful both in India and internationally, crossing the milestone of 600 crore in recent updates.

As per the latest update, Salaar has earned 473.12 crores (400.95 crores net) at the Indian box office. The film’s performance in the overseas market is nearly concluded, with a gross collection of 135 crore. Combining both, the worldwide box office collection stands at 608.12 crores.

Salaar Triumphs Over Leo and Jailer

The year 2023 was a remarkable one for the Tamil film industry, witnessing historic successes in Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo, both joining the 600 crore club. These films remained some of the highest-grossing Indian movies of the year.

For those unfamiliar, Jailer grossed 605 crores, but it was later surpassed by Leo, which concluded its run with earnings of 607.66 crores. Salaar has now overtaken both Leo and Jailer, presenting a commendable challenge to Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom. However, it’s unlikely to surpass Prabhas’s own Baahubali: The Beginning, which has a total earning of 650 crores.
