After the success of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan are teaming up again for Dulhania 3, titled Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Supported by Karan Johar’s production house Dharma Productions, this film will not feature Alia Bhatt—who starred in the previous two films of the franchise—but will showcase Janhvi Kapoor as Tulsi Kumari. Varun will portray the character of Sunny Sanskari.

The official announcement video was shared on Instagram by Karan Johar and the main actors and producers of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Produced by Dharma Productions, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is set to release in theaters on April 18, 2025.
Karan’s cryptic post about Janhvi replacing Alia:
Earlier this year, there was a report suggesting that Janhvi Kapoor would replace Alia Bhatt, who played major roles in both previous Dulhania films, in Dulhania 3.
Karan was reacting to a report by PeepingMoon.com which stated that Alia wouldn’t be acting in Dulhania 3; instead, Janhvi Kapoor was brought on board to play a new Dulhania opposite Varun Dhawan, who was also in major roles in the previous two Dulhania films.
